Zooarchaeology at the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography

The Zooarchaeology lab houses a large comparative collection that includes specimens of mammals, fish, and birds found at archaeological sites associated with human settlements from around the world.

Tours of the Zooarchaeology lab will be on a rolling basis. No advanced registration is needed.

Economic Botany at the Harvard University Herbaria

Economic botany studies the commercial exploitation of plants for many uses including foods and beverages. The collection has various objects such as herbarium sheets of dried crops, teaching models of fruits and vegetables, samples of historical commercial food products, trade publications, and more.

You must register in advance for these tours. Tours will last approximately one half hour and start at 5:30, 6:00, 7:00, 7:30, and 8:00. Due to Herbaria restrictions, participants must be 10 years of age or older.

The exclusive event is free and all members are welcome to attend; however, behind-the-scenes tours in the Herbaria require advanced registration as space is limited. Registration opens at 9 a.m. on Friday, November 1.
